Sitaare Zameen Par box office collection day 3 (updated live): The first weekend of Sitaare Zameen Par, starring Genelia Deshmukh and Aamir Khan and directed by RS Prasanna, did well at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the comedy sports drama surpassed the ₹50 crore net barrier just in India.

According to the trade website, Sitaare Zameen Par has amassed a net collection of ₹52.52 crore in India after bringing in a haul of ₹21.62 crore by Sunday at 7 p.m. The movie had a rough beginning with ₹10.7 crore on its debut, but it made a significant 88.79% increase on Saturday, earning ₹20.2 crore. On Sunday, it had a 41.76% Hindi occupancy rate, which increased throughout the day.

For context, Aamir's previous film, Laal Singh Chaddha, earned ₹27.96 crore in three days. Kesari Chapter 2, Akshay Kumar's film, had made ₹29.5 crore by its first weekend. Jaat, starring Sunny Deol, made ₹26.25 crore. The first weekend of Salman Khan's Sikandar, with its ₹74.5 crore haul, and Akshay's Sky Force, with its ₹62.25 crore haul, continue to outperform Sitaare Zameen Par.

The 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, in which Darsheel Safary portrayed Ishaan, a misunderstood dyslexic youngster, is a spiritual sequel to Sitaare Zameen Par. The film, which also starred Tisca Chopra and Vipin Sharma, went on to become a huge success. In Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir takes on a persona that is the complete opposite of his Ram Shankar Nikumbh in Taare Zameen Par. He plays Gulshan, a disgraced basketball coach who is required by the court to instruct a class of neurodivergent individuals in the game. In the film, Genelia portrays his wife, Sunita.
