1. Onion and garlic dip with a smoky flavor
Items:
- one cup of hung yogurt or Greek yogurt
- smoked paprika powder in 1 teaspoon
- 1 grated clove of garlic
- a half-onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon of mild olive oil
- Add salt to your preference.
- Lime juice squeeze
- Optional: minced parsley or chives for garnish
Technique:
1. Combine olive oil, onion, garlic, smoked paprika, and Greek yogurt in a bowl and whisk.
2. Add salt and a little lemon juice. Mix well.
3. Add a sprinkle of paprika, a thin stream of olive oil, and some chopped chives or parsley for garnish.
Good match with:
Roasted mushrooms, BBQ potato wedges, grilled chicken skewers, and charred corn.
2. Chili mango salsa dip
Ingredients:
- one mango, finely chopped
- finely minced onion
- 1 green chilli, minced
- chopped coriander leaves, in limited amount
- half a lime, squeezed
- 1 Tbsp Salt
Technique:
1. In a dish, combine the mango, onion, green chilli, and cilantro and toss.
2. Next, sprinkle the salt, then the coriander leaves and lime juice. Check and modify the flavor.
3. Before serving, let it rest for 10 minutes.
Goes well with:
Smoked chicken wings, grilled paneer, BBQ prawns, grilled tacos.

3. Avocado cream dip with a spicy and herbal flavor
Ingredients:
- a chopped, ripe avocado
- Sour cream or hung yogurt in a cup
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- finely minced 1 clove garlic
- hot sauce, 1 tablespoon
- hand-torn, a small amount of fresh mint
- Add salt to taste.
Technique:
1. Add the avocado, lemon juice, and garlic to a bowl or mortar. Use the pestle or the back of a spoon to crush it.
2. Mix the hot sauce and hung yogurt/sour cream thoroughly until combined. The unbroken pieces of avocado would benefit from a little texture.
3. Taste after adding the mint, then adjust the seasoning by adding salt.
4. Serve after 30 minutes of cooling.
Goes nicely with:
Chicken sausages, vegetable skewers, charred sweet potato, and zucchini fritters.
4. Roasted pepper garlic dip with a spicy tomato flavor
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe tomatoes, grilled or roasted until they are burnt
- Roasted garlic cloves, 4-5
- grilled or roasted till charred, one red bell pepper
- 1 teaspoon of hot sauce
- one teaspoon of olive oil
- Add salt to suit your preference
Technique:
1. Blitz the roasted tomatoes, bell pepper, and garlic in the blender at a low speed.
2. After mixing, transfer to a bowl and add salt and hot sauce. Mix thoroughly.
3. Add a little olive oil to create a smooth dip.
4. Savour, change the amount of salt and heat as necessary, and then indulge!
Goes well with:
Grilled tofu, grilled quesadilla, and BBQ Lamb Chops make a wonderful spread for a BBQ Burger bun.
