To keep up her physical and mental well-being, Malaika Arora engages in intermittent fasting. On the June 2 episode of 32 Degrees, the reality television judge and former VJ said that her fitness philosophy focuses on balance and moderation in eating, rather than on strict diets. She also discussed how she utilizes fasting as a method to maintain her health.

'Water therapy is something so important'

Malaika Arora, who celebrated her 51st birthday in October 2024, was asked to reveal "any specific wellness rituals that she lives by". She replied, "So there are a few, you know, small things. One of the things I believe is so overlooked is sleep. I stand by that statement. I believe it's quite crucial. Another essential element is water therapy. In Scarlett House, her Mumbai establishment, I do have that. I personally make use of our full hydration bar every day. That is an extremely significant thing. Eating well, yoga, meditation—yoga is nothing, it's merely breathing.

‘I do intermittent fasting’

“I do intermittent fasting,” she stated, sharing specifics about her diet. In fact, I start my day with something that's so fundamental, so Indian... it's ghee, a component of Ayurveda. It's not about dieting; I begin my day with ghee. Dieting and fasting are two very different things. Even though I eat, it's only during a small portion of the day. I also make it a point not to eat after dusk. Consequently, 7 p.m. is my final supper. At that point, I cease. I don't eat. I make an effort to avoid eating anything else until the following day. As a result, I get up early but don't consume anything. With ghee, I'll probably just break her fast. My first meal is at 12 (noon). When I truly eat, it's my real hearty meal; and I finish everything. I consume everything, including rice, roti, and sabzi.

What is intermittent fasting?

When following this eating pattern, instead of counting calories or measuring portions, people just have to pay attention to the clock. Eat what you want, but only during certain windows of time — often just eight hours a day.
