Tom Felton will reprise his role as Draco Malfoy in the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. On Thursday's edition of Today, the 37-year-old made the news. In 2018, he joined the Broadway production as the first member of the original cast of the well-liked film series.

In Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway, Tom Felton will play Draco Malfoy once more.

Felton will portray Draco as an adult throughout a 19-week engagement. The drama takes place 19 years after the events of JK Rowling's novels. It centers on Harry, Ron, and Hermione's offspring, now adults, going to Hogwarts along with the Draco children.

When Felton was on Today, he said of the play, "We start 19 years later. We're no longer children now." We are, in fact, the parents. As much as it is a return to an old role for me, it is also a step into new, uncharted waters. I knew him well as a child, but not so much as an adult.

"It's very, very easy to get emotional," the Origin star said, continuing, "I just immediately cried when they put my blond wig on for the theatre production." It was almost as if it were a blast from the past. Nonetheless, Felton doesn't appear to have the same sentiments as Harry Potter enthusiasts.

Immediately following the announcement that Felton would be reprising his role as Draco, his followers turned to social media to express their discontent. The majority of them agreed that "he needs to move on."

“Bruh what is this 40 year old man playing a teen in the new hbo show ???” one X user wrote. “Tom Felton has been playing the role of Draco Malfoy since he was a child! He needs to move on at some point and get a job!” another added. “He is the only member of the original Harry Potter cast who hasn’t moved on,” one more said.
