The Traitors: Karan Kundrra Out, Reflects ‘So Much Happened Before I Could Even Grasp the Game’

The Indian version of the popular reality television program The Traitors debuted on Amazon Prime Video on June 12, with Karan Johar as the host. The eliminations also started as the game of trust and betrayal underwent shocking twists. Karan Kundraa was the next contestant to leave the program after Lakshmi Manchu, Raj Kundra, and Sahil Salathia. Karan explained his early departure by saying he was accustomed to a "different format" and required more time to warm up.

What Karan Stated

Karan was booted by his team in the third episode after they believed he was having a relationship with Raj. In response to his departure, Karan stated, "I'm used to a different format, you know, jisme thoda time lagta hai game samajhne mein," during a conversation with News18. But here, even before I understood the game, so much happened that it takes some time to learn the game. It felt like being in hyperdrive. If I had survived the Circle of Truth, I would have made it very far; I really hope that day. Because this is a very unique sort of game.

"You don't understand anything."

In response to the departure, Raj Kundra posted on the same site, “Aapko kuch pata nahi chalta, kaun kiski peeth pe peeche kya bol raha hai” (One never knows who is saying what behind their back). But that's what makes the performance so wonderful. It's impossible to tell who is playing whom. I thought Janvi or Ashish Sir was involved at one point, but then I kept quiet. I was surprised that people like Rebel Kid and Raftaar were able to see the connection and betray me. However, I adored it. It's a Kalyug performance, and indeed the baap (father) of all productions."

Apoorva Mukhija, also known as The Rebel Kid, reacted to Karan Kundrra's elimination on her YouTube channel. "Karan sort of looked like he was hiding something," she said, "but aisa nahi tha yar, and then we took out Karan, and I was like so, so, so, so sad" (Karan sort of looked like he was hiding something). However, it wasn't like that at all; then we eliminated Karan, and I was extremely, extremely, extremely, incredibly unhappy," she added.

The remaining contestants are Mukesh Chhabra, Sudhanshu Pandey, Sufi Motiwala, Maheep Kapoor, Jannat Zubair, Janvi Gaur, Anshula Kapoor, Nikita Luther, Elnaaz Norouzi, Raftaar, Jasmine Bhasin, Uorfi Javed, Apoorva, aka Rebel Kid, Ashish G. Vidyarthi, Harsh Gujral, and Purav Jha. Every Thursday at 8 PM, new episodes will be available on Prime Video.
