On June 2, Whitney Purvis, who appeared on MTV's 16 and Pregnant, broke tragic news about her son's death. At the age of 16, her son Weston Gosa Jr. passed away. She posted a tribute to her late son on Facebook and shared a number of pictures of Weston, some of which featured her.

"This is so hard to write," she said. Weston, my gorgeous boy, is no longer living. He was just sixteen. Life is just so unjust and cruel. I simply don't get it.

In mourning for the loss of her son, she continued, "Oh my baby is gone and I don't know what to do with myself. He was flawless. I can't believe that my worst nightmare is now a reality. After the death of a kid, how does one continue with their life? I can't believe this is happening. I don't want it to be true. I would do anything to hug him. The discomfort I am experiencing is beyond words.

"I love you so much, Weston Owen Gosa," she said. I adore you so much, God. My heart is you. I couldn't live without you, and I was so happy with the kind of young man you were growing up to be.

Later, she ended her article by saying, "Rest in Peace, my angel." You leave too soon. April 2, 2009 through June 2, 2025.

Later, she shared a second post with a picture of the two of them smiling and embracing.

My sweet Weston, "Rest in Peace." Precious, I adore you always. I'll never be able to fathom why life has to be so harsh. You'll always be my kid," she wrote.

The cause of Weston's death was not disclosed by Whitney. However, Weston's stepmother posted on Facebook that the family is awaiting an autopsy to determine the reason.

What was the reason Whitney Purvis lost custody of her kids?

Weston was born on April 2, 2009. His parents, Whitney and Weston Sr., appeared in the first season of Sixteen and Pregnant. In 2014, they went on to have River, their second boy. They split up once more after River's birth.

Whitney was taken into custody for failing to pay more than $18,000 in child support for her two sons, Weston Jr. and River. According to TMZ, a judge ruled her in contempt of court, resulting in a 48-hour jail sentence and further monthly payments. These legal difficulties resulted in the loss of custody.
