Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix, discussed his friendship with Shah Rukh Khan, a well-known Bollywood actor. Ted told Nikhil Kamath in an interview that one of the first celebrities he met in India, prior to the 2018 release of the OTT platform's first Indian series, Sacred Games, was Shah Rukh.

When asked to identify his favorite Indian celebrity, Ted replied that he gets along well with Shah Rukh. "When I first arrived in India, I ran into Shah Rukh Khan right away," he recalled. We connected right away when he invited me over for a wonderful meal. Since then, I've returned with my wife, and we've enjoyed ourselves. When his kid was in school, we paid each other a visit in Los Angeles. In India, dining with Shah Rukh Khan is quite different from doing so in Los Angeles. Netflix will soon release The Ba***ds of Bollywood, which is written by Shah Rukh's son Aryan Khan.

Regarding Heeramandi and Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Ted also stated in the same interview that he was captivated by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his 2024 production Heeramandi, which he described as a "dare." "Perhaps one of the most creatively intriguing assignments I've ever done in India was working on Heeramandi," he stated. His vision was enormous, as though it were a challenge, and he brought it in (Sanjay Leela Bhansali). It's so huge; I dare you to create it. And keep in mind that he is a film legend. Therefore, the notion that he would produce a television program is extremely unusual. I believe he came here in order for us to reject him. And it was a difficult production when we agreed.

The last time Shah Rukh was seen was in the 2023 movies Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. With Abhishek Bachchan, his daughter Suhana Khan, and director Siddharth Anand as his co-stars, he is currently aiming for King.
