TFCC Chairman Dr. Pratani Ramakrishna Goud thanked Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, and Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju for their efforts to tackle some urgent problems in the Telugu film industry.

He valued the recent coordination committee meeting, which addressed issues such as concession prices for food and theater tickets. He stated at a press conference today in his office that:

"Recently, I raised concerns in a press conference regarding issues like high ticket prices and expensive food items in theaters," stated Dr. Pratani Ramakrishna Goud. It is a positive development that the Telangana government is addressing these issues seriously. The coordination committee convened under the guidance of Chairman Dil Raju, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, and Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to address several issues confronting the film industry.

We have been advocating for making cinema more affordable and accessible to the general public. These days, films are hitting OTT platforms within a month of their theater debut. Audiences are being deterred from attending theaters by high ticket prices and costly food purchases.

Mr. Dil Raju's support for increasing ticket prices was recently expressed at the Thammudu film event. This initiative is admirable as it shows that discussions are being held, at least. Meanwhile, digital content providers like Qube and UFO are charging much higher prices in our area—between ₹10,000 and ₹15,000—than they do in cities like Mumbai, where they charge less than ₹3,000.

For example, I spent over ₹5 lakhs on digital content providers alone when I debuted the film Jhansi in fifty theatres. This has turned into a significant burden, particularly for small manufacturers. About 90% of the movies produced each year are by independent filmmakers. Due to these financial obstacles, hundreds of finished movies—between 400 and 500—are regrettably not being released.

Tollywood has received strong support from actor Pawan Kalyan. We wish he steps in on the issue of digital service provider charges as well and aids in alleviating the load. We will soon introduce him on behalf of TFCC to congratulate him and discuss these matters.

A producer can only survive if movies perform well in both Telugu states. Producers are losing money as a result of large commission charges on sites like BookMyShow. To prevent exploitation by private ticketing firms, ticket booking services should be offered via the Film Development Corporation (FDC).

On behalf of the TFCC, we will soon present these matters to the governments and Deputy Chief Ministers of both Telugu states.

Others in attendance included Ravi, the President of the TFCC Fighters Union.
