Everyone was stunned by the news of SM Raju's death, also known as Mohan Raj, while doing a stunt on the set of Pa Ranjith's next movie Vettuvam. In an interview with Kumudam, Stunt Silvam, his friend and coworker, described how the family received support from well-known Kollywood actors like Suriya, Vijay, and Simbu.
The family of Raju receives assistance from Simbu and Suriya
Silva stated in the interview that Arya was the first person to call him immediately after the event. Vijay also phoned to express his astonishment, and Simbu and Suriya volunteered to support the family. "Arya was the first person to call me after the incident," he stated. "Vijay sir himself called me and said he used to pull off stunts so perfectly." How did this occur?
"STR (Silambarasan TR, aka Simbu) sir called me and said he would give a cheque for a big amount to the family, and he gave them a large amount," the stuntman said. “Suriya sir’s manager called and said he would take care of the children’s education. Thus, everyone is supporting them,” he said.
Regarding the demise of SM Raju
In the South Indian film industry, Raju was a well-known stunt performer. He passed away on July 13 while doing a car stunt for Vettuvam. Ranjith's Neelam Productions released a statement expressing sadness over his passing. They said, "We feel sorry for his wife, children, family, and everyone who knew and loved Mohan Raj Anna as a colleague and a friend."
Additionally, the production company stated that the event occurred despite all safety procedures being followed under the direction of stunt director Dilip Subbarayan. “He was a veteran whose planning, clarity, and execution we all relied on. It is extremely heartbreaking that we lost such a talent despite our best efforts, as stated in part.
The Hindu's report states that the director and three others have been arrested for negligent behavior, aiding in the commission of a crime, and criminal homicide.
