In the newest music video, Sapphire, performed by Ed Sheeran, Shah Rukh Khan made a surprise appearance. A few months ago, the vocalist visited India, where he met Arijit Singh and traveled around the nation, filming the music video in different locations. Ed has now revealed in a new BTS video that the singer posted on his YouTube page how Shah Rukh consented to participate in the cameo.
Ed's encounter with Shah Rukh
In the BTS video, Ed provided a comprehensive description of his trip to Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai for the purpose of filming in different locations. He then stopped at the point in the song where Shah Rukh appears to explain how the collaboration came about.
"There is no need to give context of who Shah Rukh Khan is; I would say he is probably like the first or second most famous person in the world," Ed stated. He asked me to come over to play paddle. After about three hours of paddle playing, he proposed an idea and said, "Do it whenever," and I responded, "To be honest, I'm here, so like, do you want to get dinner tomorrow?" I was singing the entire melody in Hindi by the time I got there!
The video went on to explain that Ed recorded his first Hindi vocals in a studio. Director Siddharth Anand, who directed Shah Rukh in Pathaan, told Ed that he was waiting for him at his home and wanted to see him there. Nic, Ed, and his father went there. Ed continued, "I came back, had dinner with him, and we filmed his cameo." Following the shot, Shah Rukh embraced Ed warmly.
Arijit Singh also joins in for the Punjabi vocals in Saphhire. In the official music video, the two of them are seen riding bikes. Just a few days after its release, the song is a favorite among listeners.
