Thursday's Mumbai premiere of Sitaare Zameen Par was a star-studded event, with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan showing up to cheer on their buddy Aamir. While posing for photographers at the debut, Salman poked fun at Aamir in a lighthearted manner.
With a straight face and a cheeky smile, Salman addressed the photographers on the red carpet, saying, "Isne story nahi bataayi na picture ki? Isne mere ko bulaya tha ye subject dekhne ke liye… main chala gaya mujhe bahut achi lagi picture… maine haan bhi keh di…" I received a phone call saying, "I'm making the picture," even though he hadn't told me the story behind it. He had invited me to see this subject. I went and I really enjoyed the movie. I even said yes, and then I got a call saying, "I'm making the film."
"Maine itni tareef kari thi picture ki ki Aamir bola, 'main phaad dunga iss picture mein' ... it's outstanding," he said with a smile. (I raved about the film so much that Aamir decided to do the film).
Salman made a lighthearted dig at Aamir's personal life, saying, "He also told me that he liked the picture a lot too, but at that time, he wasn't working on it, there was a bit of a load on him... the scripting and paperwork were in progress at that time."
When Aamir and Kiran Rao were getting divorced, Salman seemed to be alluding to the documents. Everyone laughed at the remark.
"So I said it's a really good movie, I want to do it, and then I get a call from him saying..." Salman said. He also informed me that I had previously done it (So I said it's a great film, and if I want to do it, I get a call saying... he told me that he has already done it before).
"Aisa ho sakta ki wo haan bole aur main beech mein aaun? (Can it happen that he agrees and I end up being part of it?)," Aamir joked as he joined the group.
The connection and conversation between the two celebrities was the highlight of the show. Salman wore an all-black outfit to the debut.
