Prosenjit Chatterjee has lauded Aamir Khan for choosing not to put Sitaare Zameen Par on OTT services just eight weeks after its theatrical debut. Prosenjit told India Today that Aamir "can take the risk” because he "understands the pulse and sensibilities of the audiences". But he continued, saying that "nothing will change".

Aamir Khan's choice to release Sitaare Zameen Par, according to Prosenjit Chatterjee

Prosenjit discussed Aamir's unique methodology, saying, "He can take the risk. He has been serving the industry for many years, and he understands the pulse and sensibilities of the audiences."

Prosenjit's reasoning for believing that this action will have no impact

However, Prosenjit doesn't believe that Aamir's action will have any effect. "He (Aamir Khan) is someone who is capable of thinking in this manner or taking this sort of risk in order to protect the theatrical industry and film. A film will first be shown on OTT and then on satellite television. Nothing will alter. That's how we connect with our Indian viewers, that's how it goes. "However, let's watch how this turns out (Sitaare Zameen Par's sole-cinema model), and I'm hopeful it works," Prosenjit continued.

The comments Aamir made about the publication of Sitaare Zameen Par

Aamir told India Today in a recent interview that he would only release the film in theaters. "I am a loyalist of cinema, and I believe in it. It is a significant risk, and a lot of money is at stake. A significant loss may result from the failure of the film and the loss of that portion of my presales. Although I got offers, I declined them since I want viewers to see my movie in theaters. "I have faith in cinema, and I have faith in my audience," he said.

According to trade expert Komal Nahta, Aamir has rejected a ₹120 crore offer from Amazon Prime Video for the digital rights of the film. In an article for Film Information, Komal said that Aamir has "decided to try and change the game" for films being released in theaters. According to Komal, Aamir wants viewers to experience the joy of seeing a movie in a theater.
