One of the most anticipated movies of the year is Director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie, starring Rajinikanth. Actor Nagarjuna also co-stars in a key role in the movie. Nagarjuna discussed his collaboration with Lokesh in an interview with Galatta Plus, mentioning the director's extensive fan base.

What Nagarjuna said about Lokesh Kanagaraj

"Lokesh is a whistle factor. I was with him on the streets of Chennai, where he has a large following. He was constantly approached by others while we were out for lunch. "He's a whistle factor himself," he stated during the conversation.

"Coolie is a full-on whistle film."

Regarding the movie, he continued, "I have a very important role in it." I have to give Loki credit for how well he has introduced me. Coolie is a complete whistle movie… I love the movie Vikram, and the performances of Fahadh Faasil, Vijay Sethupathi, and even the nanny (Agent Tina) are superb. In Coolie, aside from Rajni sir, Upendra from Kannada, Aamir Khan from Hindi, and myself all stand out. That's Coolie's trump card.

Rajinikanth stars in Coolie, which was directed by Lokesh and produced by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures. The remaining cast includes Monisha Blessy, Junior MGR, Reba Monica John, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, and Nagarjuna. After its reveal in 2023, filming concluded in March of this year. The movie has a cameo by Aamir Khan. The film's screenplay and dialogues were written by Lokesh and Chandhru Anbazhagan. The music was written by Anirudh Ravichandar.

Coolie will hit theaters on August 14, competing with Ayan Mukherji's War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR.
