The premiere of Kajol's next movie, Sarzameen, is approaching. Over the course of her thirty-year career in Bollywood, the actress has appeared in a number of noteworthy movies. Kajol discussed her father Shomu Mukherji and the impact he has had on her decision of movies in a recent interview with Filmfare.

"My father actually cautioned me," Kajol remembered of the exchange. Since that makeup won't come off after you apply it, he advised, "You better be sure what you want to do." When I was around sixteen, I retorted, "What garbage! I'm a modern woman; I have a decent education." "I will quit the movies and show you if I decide to do so. There's no one who can stop me from doing what I want."

Regarding Baazigar, Kajol's father made this statement:

Kajol continued, saying that it was her father who persuaded her to take on the role in Baazigar. "He was also a very practical person, very much in the flow of the industry. Additionally, he was the one who advised me to participate in Baazigar. Since I was unsure of whether to perform Baazigar or not. "I wasn't really sure about it," I said. What is this movie? What am I doing in it? He insisted that I do it because Abbas-Mustan and other great directors are involved. He urged me to make one particular film, which he called "The Film," and said that I really must do it.

When it was released in 1993, Baazigar was a big hit, with Shah Rukh Khan playing the main character. Shah Rukh and Kajol were also recognized by the industry as valuable performers in the movie.

Kajol's father, Shomu Mukherji, passed away in Mumbai on April 11, 2008, at the age of 65, after experiencing a severe heart attack.

The last time Kajol was seen was in the horror-thriller Maa. On JioHotstar, her next film Sarzameen will be available on July 25.
