According to actor Jaideep Ahlawat, Ranbir Kapoor is a superb performer, but he may not achieve the same level of popularity as Shah Rukh Khan. In an interview with Lallantop, Jaideep answered a query regarding the fact that intellectuals don't view Shah Rukh as one of the best actors. Jaideep Ahlawat referred to himself as a "chota insaan (insignificant person)" in order to express his view on this issue.

Jaideep responded to questions about famous and excellent actors by discussing how a great actor might also become a star. "Main bohut chota insaan hoon in sab cheezo k liye... ki main Khan sir ki ya Ranbir Kapoor ki popularity ko judge karu ki woh kis tarah ka abhineta hai ya kis tarah ka star hai?" he said. I have to assume that this was not done on purpose. Being well-known and a star is something else, and it might include an actor (I'm not in a position to comment on these things...to gauge the popularity of Shah Rukh or Ranbir Kapoor as an actor and star). I don't believe it was done on purpose. An actor can be a member of it too, but it's a separate issue from having fame and celebrity.

Shah Rukh and Ranbir were also compared by Jaideep. I feel Ranbir Kapoor is an amazing and brilliant actor, he said. He might not be as famous as Shah Rukh Khan (perhaps he won't be as well-known). What makes Shah Rukh Khan Shah Rukh Khan is not simply his acting, but also his connection with his audience. It wasn't simply because of his skill that Shah Rukh Khan became such a big celebrity; his ability to connect with his audience was also a significant factor. It's not essential that someone's only talent be for acting in order for them to become a major star.

Regarding Jaideep's movies featuring Ranbir and Shah Rukh

He stated in the same interview that he rejected the Ramayana, which starred Ranbir. Jaideep played the role of Ranbir's brother in the 2011 movie Rockstar.

In King, directed by Siddharth Anand, Jaideep will be seen with Shah Rukh. In addition to others, the movie features Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma, and Suhana Khan.
