Numerous media outlets have stated that the well-liked crime thriller Dexter will be ending its run on Netflix on June 19. The platform saw a surprising comeback for the series last year. Nonetheless, there is no news on if the streaming behemoth will be able to maintain ownership of the program any longer because its license has run out.

The story follows a serial murderer who, in his own mind, is responsible for hunting down and killing those who he believes have avoided justice in the United States. After it went off cable, Netflix started airing it two years later. It was previously shown on Showtime from 2006 to 2013. The IMDb scores for the program plummeted in the second half, even if the first few seasons were a great hit.

When did Dexter first appear on Netflix?

Dexter made his debut on Netflix in 2015 and remained there until 2020, when his license expired and it was suddenly removed. However, it gradually made its way to Netflix US on July 19, 2024, after making its way back to the platform in certain locations in 2024. The program will no longer be accessible on the site starting June 19 of this year, despite having amassed a respectable 1.01 billion viewing hours since its re-release.

On Apple TV, viewers may also watch individual episodes of the program for $2.99 each, according to Just Watch. According to What's on Netflix, Netflix UK and Canada, on the other hand, will retain the program until March 31, 2026.
