Did You Know? KK Initially Recorded Aashiqui 2 Songs Before Mohit Suri Switched to Arijit Singh

Without the voice of Arijit Singh, it's difficult to picture the music of Aashiqui 2. Despite the fact that Tum Hi Ho and other songs from the film have been at the top of the charts for more than ten years, their popularity has not waned. With this album, Arijit achieved his breakthrough in playback singing, becoming the celebrity that he is now. But it almost didn't turn out like that. KK first recorded the tunes, and Arijit wasn't involved at all.

Aashiqui 2 songs were recorded by KK

The 1991 superhit Aashiqui had a spiritual sequel in Aashiqui 2. The movie, which starred Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, was just as heavily reliant on its music as its predecessor. For the voice of Rahul Jaykar, Aditya's character, director Mohit Suri claims he chose KK.

"When I was producing Aashiqui 2, I recorded the songs in KK's voice, and I had done many songs with him, like Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai and all," Mohit tells HT in an exclusive interview. However, after recording that voice, I came to the conclusion that it would have been ideal for Emraan Hashmi a generation ago. However, Aditya Roy Kapur was arriving, and I was hoping to meet a new man.

The way in which Arijit Singh joined the team

Mohit says he then began the process of finding a new voice, for which he "auditioned everyone possible." He eventually heard Arijit's voice and began searching for him. "I went crazy looking for someone named Arijit. This is the voice the movie needs, I realized. In addition, he says that simply bringing in someone who is already well-known won't suffice.

The soundtrack of Aashiqui 2, which was written by Jeet Ganguli and featured Mithoon and Ankit Tiwari as guest composers, was a huge success. Nearly all the album's songs were at the top of the charts. Arijit sang tunes like Tum Hi Ho, Bhula Dena, Chahun Main Ya Na, Aasan Nahi Yahan, and Milne Hai Mujhse Aayi. Every one of them was a huge success. Piya Aaye Na was the only song KK performed on the album. The same holds true for that.

The next film by Mohit Suri

With his forthcoming picture, Saiyaara, Mohit Suri makes a comeback to the romance genre. The cast includes newcomers Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday. The movie's score was written by Tanishk Bagchi. The release date for Saiyaara is July 18.
