In a lawsuit filed against the creator of 'The Oval,' actor Derek Dixon has charged Tyler Perry with sexual harassment and assault.

The complaint alleges that Perry sexually exploited him by abusing his authority. Dixon, who collaborated on several episodes of "The Oval," is seeking $260 million in compensation.

But who is Derek Dixon, exactly?

Meet Derek Dixon, the actor who alleged that Tyler Perry sexually assaulted him.

He was born Derek Alexander Dixon in Raleigh, North Carolina. He attended Marymount Manhattan College and performed at New York's Terry Schreiber Studio.

Derek Dixon's most famous performances are as Dale in The Oval and Ruthless.

He also co-won the Essential Theatre Playwriting Award in 2016. He has written numerous full-length plays, such as Homewrecker, Red Snow, Pictures of People, Work of Art, and Green Light. He has also appeared in plays like The Lion in Winter, Romeo and Juliet, and The Boys In The Band. He became a member of Working Title Playwrights in 2015.

In 2019, Dixon met Tyler Perry at a party while working for an events business and was given a position on "The Restless."

He shortly afterward got a part in "The Oval," where he portrayed Dale for over a hundred episodes until he eventually left the program.

Dixon's complaint states that when he did not return Tyler Perry's unwelcome advances, he was "subjected to escalating sexual harassment, assault and battery, and professional retaliation," which allegedly caused him to quit in Season 6.

In a statement provided to USA Today, Perry's attorney refuted the claims.

"This is someone who got close to Tyler Perry in what seems now to be only to organize a con." "But Tyler will not be shaken down, and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail," stated lawyer Matthew Boyd.
