Coolie is undoubtedly one of the much-expected Tamil film right now. Headlined by actor Rajinikanth and directed by filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film features a star ensemble. And it has just got better, with the makers officially confirming that Hindi actor Aamir Khan is also part of the cast.

Coolie update: AK in the house

With Rajinikanth leading Coolie, the upcoming Tamil film is touted to be an action thriller, a genre that Lokesh Kanagaraj is known for. Even as the makers wanted to keep it a secret, the cat is already out of the bag and that Aamir Khan is part of the cast. The Sitaare Zameen Par actor had also confirmed recently, while promoting his recent film.

To make things official, the makers of Coolie unveiled a huge update on Thursday. Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth last starred in the 1995 Hindi film Aatank Hi Aatank, and their reunion after over three decades is much-awaited by fans of both the actors. TheThe makers revealed Aamir Khan's poster who will be playing the character called Dahaa in the film. The black and white poster features the side profile of the actor as he smokes his cigar with a banniyan on, and a gold watch. Aamir Khan is expected to make a cameo during the climax.

The first single, Chikitu, has already been published by the producers as part of the marketing for Coolie. Anirudh Ravichander composed the score.

The ensemble cast of Coolie, which includes actors from all languages, is supported by the Sun Pictures production banner. The cast also features Nagarjuna, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, and others in addition to Aamir Khan. Coolie, which is marketed as an action thriller, is set to debut in theaters on August 14, during the Independence Day holiday. Since it's the first time Lokesh and Rajinikanth have worked together, there's a lot of excitement surrounding the movie. Coolie is not included in the LCU line of movies.
