The new series, Viraatapalem – PC Meena Reporting, which is set to debut on Zee5 on June 27, 2025, is now available from YouTuber turned actress Abhignya Vuthaluru. She discusses with us about landing such a large offer, acting as a cop, delivering long soliloquies, and upcoming endeavors. The transcript is provided below.

PC Meena Reporting: How did you manage to get Viraatapalem?

One of the team members from Zee5 extended me the offer. I knew right away, when I heard the script, that I would never get such a role at such a young age in my career. I took advantage of the show with both hands because it was entirely about me and gave me the chance to demonstrate my skills. There was no way I would pass up such an opportunity.

Tell us more about the role you play in Viraatapalem's PC Meena Reporting

Meena, the police constable I play, is stationed in a tiny community where married women are constantly murdered on their wedding night in strange circumstances. My character is primarily based on how a rookie officer makes the courageous choice to get married in order to solve the crime. In real life, Meena is a very brave, determined, and courageous individual.

How did you get ready for the part?

I've been considering how I would portray Meena in various ways ever since I received the screenplay. I even invented a history for Meena in my mind and did the role as well as I could. I must express my gratitude to my director, Krisha, for allowing me the freedom to perform as I wanted while maintaining the integrity of the role..

Thrillers share many similarities. PC Meena: What makes Viraatapalem so unique? Reporting?

It appears that Viraatapalem - PC Meena Reporting is a crime thriller, but I would describe it as a mystery thriller. After the show begins streaming on June 27, 2025, the reasons for this will become apparent. Family drama, suspense, and folklore are at their height in the series.

What challenges did you encounter while filming such a high-intensity program?

From the start, Viraatapalem – PC Meena Reporting moves at a rapid speed. Therefore, I had to maintain the character's attitude throughout. In addition, I had to pronounce lengthy monologues, which was rather unusual. As I was also ill, it took me some time to give my speeches because it was my first time performing in front of an audience.

Have you always aspired to be an actor?

I grew up in Delhi and was exposed to a variety of films. I had always wanted to be an actor since I was a child, and Trisha was my favorite actress. I started out as a dancer before turning to YouTube and eventually making a career out of acting. PC Meena - Viraatapalem I am really excited to see how the audience responds to my reporting, which offers me a huge chance to demonstrate my skills.

Future Plans?

I am currently filming my forthcoming web series, Melbourne Panchayati, for ETV Win. The series is a hilarious masala aimed at young people. My ambition is to star in a period piece that incorporates the notion of time travel. I hope I'll be able to play such roles soon.
