In this scene, Shriya Pilgaonkar, who plays a police officer in the show, maintains her composure while nine of her co-stars break character. They all dance while dressed in Indian attire, or more specifically, they shake a leg to the popular song "Vartaman aankhon ka dhokha." However, Shriya, in her police guise, halts the music and declares, "Vartaman aankhon ka dhokha toh hai" (The present is indeed deceptive). Deception is the main character in the show's theme, and this line fits nicely with it.

The forthcoming Zee5 series Chhal Kapat may be seen on OTTplay Premium. It concerns a murder and nine suspects who are at large. For the series, Shriya plays the role of a police officer for the first time ever. Even if the case is convoluted and complicated, she is determined to learn who perpetrated the crime. Even in the most recent advertisement that the filmmakers released, the suspense surrounding the number 9 persists. The same is a hard reminder of Raghav Juyal and Kritika Kamra's recent series, Gyaarah Gyaarah.

Shriya Pilgaonkar made news recently because her web series Guilty Minds season 2 got scrapped from the line-up of Prime Video shows. The series, much like Mona Singh's Netflix show Kaala Paani, was about to go on floors, but was cancelled right before that happened. It is to be noted that both shows received critical acclaim, nonetheless. Whether we get a new season of The Broken News, though, remains unclear at this point.
