After Tharun Moorthy's film had its highly anticipated OTT premiere on JioHotstar on May 30, 2025, the Mohanlal-starring Thudarum continues to garner praise. The Lucifer star's outstanding performance in the film, which follows Benz Shanmugham's quest for vengeance after George sir murders his son Pavi (Thomas Mathew), is being lauded by fans. The Malayalam thriller has received accolades, but sharp-eyed netizens are still raising questions about it. When the youngster was almost stripped naked, one of the most pressing issues is how Pavi's wallet ended up in Benz's car. In a recent discussion with OTTplay, Thudarum's filmmaker, Tharun Moorthy, allayed any concerns, saying that the movie has all the answers.

Tharun Moorthy dismisses Thudarum ‘bloopers’

When CI George sir and two more cops take a dead body that is concealed in a sack in the trunk of his vehicle and bury it in the woods in Thudarum, Benz, the cab driver, is compelled to remain silent. Benz doesn't discover the wallet until the following day, when he learns that the victim was in fact his son Pavi. However, this has become a point of debate online because many users have questioned how the wallet could have ended up in the trunk given that the youngster was practically stripped naked when George Sir brutally thrashed Pavi for loving his daughter.

Tharun Moorthy's response to OTTplay's questions about this was that the film makes it evident that there are mistakes.

"The film makes it obvious. The news coverage makes it clear that the victim's uniform was discovered in the bag. Tharun, who had previously produced the National Award-winning Saudi Vellakka and Operation Java, said, "Viewers who were emotionally overwhelmed would have likely overlooked it."

“We have addressed the areas where viewers are most likely to have questions. The audience would benefit more from seeing it again than from having a filmmaker explain it. I make every effort to avoid spoon-feeding since I'm sure that the storyline and viewing experience won't be impacted by it," he continued.

The film has also generated such debates, which Tharun is really pleased about. "I also view such observations with happiness as it shows how much the viewers are invested in the film," he added.
