Ashok Chopra, Priyanka Chopra's father, passed away in 2013 following a protracted struggle with cancer. During the production of the movie Fashion, in which he co-starred with Priyanka, actor Arjan Bajwa recalled when she learned about his father's illness. In a recent interview for his YouTube channel, Arjan told Siddharth Kannan that Priyanka was incredibly hardworking and that they formed a connection during this personal hardship.

What Arjan said

Arjan shared the tale of when his own father, Swinderjeet Singh Bajwa, who was the former deputy mayor of Delhi, passed away after falling from the balcony of his first-story residence. He then went on to discuss his work on the film Fashion at the time. "We were filming a scene in Juhu. While the shot was being set up, Priyanka and I were just sitting and chatting. Furthermore, she was questioning me about my father, and then her father was diagnosed with cancer. Thus, she was under a lot of pressure. I can clearly recall one day when we were chatting about our fathers while sitting next to each other. Others may have been wondering what these co-stars were talking about so much, and there we were. I've lost one, and now she's telling me my father is battling cancer, he said.

Because of their similar problems, Arjan and Priyanka were able to connect; he also acknowledged that she was going through a difficult time emotionally. "There was mutual respect for each other," he continued. Other than that, I believe she is a very hardworking person. No matter where she is now or what she is now, I attribute it to her diligence and concentration on her life and career... She is a very tough woman. Arjan also mentioned that she never appeared to be crying or vulnerable on the set.

For her work in Fashion, Priyanka went on to take home the National Award. In the next movie, Heads of State, viewers will get to see Priyanka. It will make its debut on Prime Video.
