In response to the tragedy, the actor, who is married to RCB great Virat Kohli, shared the team's official statement on Instagram along with a row of heartbroken emojis.

Additional details on the stampede in Bengaluru

What was meant to be a joyful day for supporters of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the city turned out to be a nightmare when a stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium killed 11 people and wounded 33 others.

The felicitation ceremony for RCB proceeded according to plan, despite the turmoil. The open-bus parade was ultimately permitted by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, but it was canceled. Before the players went around the field carrying the trophy, Virat Kohli and captain Rajat Patidar spoke to the large throng inside the stadium.

While the opposition criticized the Congress-led administration for failing to prepare for the felicitation event, Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah ordered a magisterial investigation into the stampede on Wednesday. Following the stampede, KSCA and RCB released a combined statement expressing their condolences. Additionally, the cricket organization and the franchise declared a payment of ₹25 lakh to the families of the deceased.
