Ankit Gupta, a television actor famous for Udaariyaan and Bigg Boss 16, has recently spoken out about the ongoing relationship rumors about his personal life. The actor, who has often been linked to his co-stars, especially Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, has shared his annoyance with unfounded rumors.

"Total disregard for boundaries"

Ankit posted a statement on his Instagram account on Friday, highlighting the need of respecting personal space and the effect of such rumors on his and others' reputations.

"There comes a point where silence starts to feel like consent and I'm no longer okay with that," the statement say. In the last few months, I've come across numerous narratives, modifications, and assumptions regarding my private life that are entirely untrue, lacking in context, and completely disrespectful of boundaries. "Not only is it ridiculous to try to connect me with someone I don't even know just because they appeared in the same frame, but it's also unsettling."

"Allow me to put this very plainly. I'm a private individual. I share this intention along with whatever I decide to share. "However, I will not tolerate this increasing culture of creating stories, connecting me with unknown people, or using my name and face to acquire views, likes, and attention," the statement added.

"Going forward, anyone or any site that disseminates false, defamatory, or intrusive information about me will be subject to legal action, including defamation lawsuits. My dignity is not public property just because I lead a public life. To be clear, I'm not here to go along with anything; I'm here to defend what's mine. Therefore, before you share or distribute anything, ask yourself: Is it genuine, is it respectful, or is it nonsense?

The internet responds

Ankit's statement was backed by friends and supporters, who requested that the actor's privacy be respected. Actor Tina Dutta remarked, "Proud of you buddy.. This was much needed… Unfortunately People lack basic etiquettes these days (sic)."

"It's time we respect those boundaries and stop the baseless gossip," one fan said.

"Much needed post, im so glad u finally gave these people this," wrote another fan. They have no shame in respecting the privacy and lives of others. They say whatever. Well said, Anks. "Always support u for the right (sic)"
