With his upcoming picture, Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan makes a comeback to the big screen after a three-year absence. On June 20, the movie is hoping to have an exclusive theatrical release. Previously, Aamir expressed his desire to maintain the movie in theaters and avoid an immediate release on OTT platforms. He now revealed in an interview with India Today that Amitabh Bachchan had inspired him to choose this release strategy.

What Amir stated

At the meeting, Aamir disclosed that, despite the fact that he has no problem with any streaming services, he could not understand the timeline in which a movie is released in theaters before debuting on OTT in the weeks that follow. With the theater-only release, Amitabh Bachchan inspired him to take the chance and stand by his convictions, he said.

I want people to visit theaters.

"I am a loyalist of cinema, and I believe in it," Aamir continued. Yes, there is a significant financial risk involved. A significant loss could result if I don't get that portion of my pre-sales and the movie doesn't perform well. Although I had offers, I declined them because I want people to see my picture in theaters. I have faith in both my audience and the medium of film.

The 2007 smash film Taare Zameen Par is followed spiritually by Sitaare Zameen Par. The movie is a remake of the Spanish film Campeones, which depicts him as a basketball coach instructing a group of athletes with exceptional needs. RS Prasanna is the director. The movie, which is made by Aamir Khan Productions, features ten actors: Vedant Sharma, Samvit Desai, Rishi Shahani, Naman Mishra, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishabh Jain, Simran Mangeshkar, Aroush Datta, and Gopi Krishna Varma.
