Historical Background

The Samadhi Mandir was originally built by a wealthy devotee, Shreemant Gopalrao Booty of Nagpur, in the early 20th century. Initially conceived as a resting place for Sai Baba, it eventually became his final resting place after his Mahasamadhi (passing) on October 15, 1918. The temple was completed shortly after, and over the years, it evolved into a massive spiritual complex managed by the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, founded in 1922.
