Renault Kwid

The Renault Kwid is the least expensive automatic hatchback in India right now. It is available with a 5-speed AMT beginning at the RXL(O) level. The Kwid is driven by a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine that generates 68 bhp and 92.5 Nm of torque. Renault provides a 'Traffic Assist' creep mode that is useful in bumper-to-bumper traffic. With an ex-showroom price of ₹6.41 lakh, its AMT version is a little more expensive than some of the items on this list. With a claimed 22.3 kmpl, fuel economy is respectable even if it isn't the very best. The Renault Kwid features an 8-inch infototainment system, hill start assist, steering-mounted controls, and a quick USB charger.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso

The S-Presso from Maruti is the company's most affordable automatic vehicle. The AMT version begins at the VXi (O) trim level, which has an ex-showroom starting price of ₹5.71 lakh. The S-Presso has plenty of headroom, making it ideal for taller occupants. It has the same 1.0-liter engine as the Alto K10 under the hood, which produces the same horsepower numbers. Both use a 5-speed AMT. The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso has a fuel economy rating of 25.30 kmpl. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD for improved braking control, and more sophisticated technologies like Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and hill hold assist for added stability.

Tata Tiago and Tiago NRG

The Tiago NRG has the 5-speed AMT only in the XZA version, while Tata offers it on the Tiago in the XTA and XZA trims. Both are equipped with a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine that generates 85 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. The Tiago NRG with the same transmission has a starting price of ₹7.85 lakh (ex-showroom), while the 5-speed AMT Tiago has a starting price of ₹6.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki Swift

The fourth-generation Swift now comes with a completely new 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine (K12E) that generates 81 bhp and 112 Nm. This engine is paired with a 5-speed AMT in the VXi, VXi(O), ZXi, and ZXi+ variants. Although the engine's output has decreased somewhat from that of its predecessor, it is still lively and polished. The AMT works well with the engine for urban driving, providing smooth shifts and a well-calibrated creep feature that is helpful in stop-and-go traffic situations.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios

The Grand i10 NIOS by Hyundai adds sophistication and polish to the AMT market. The automatic versions, which range from the Magna to the Asta, the highest specifications, are powered by a 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 82 bhp and 114 Nm of torque.
