Hero Karizma XMR Base Model Axed, New Starting Price Set at ₹1.92 Lakh

The Hero Karizma XMR range has been quietly modified, with the basic model being removed from the official website. Now that the Karizma XMR is only offered in two trim levels—the Top and the recently released Combat edition—both of which have features that were previously only available on that model, this change has made the Karizma XMR more exclusive.

Base model removed: Hero Karizma

The Karizma XMR's entry-level model was discontinued, which resulted in a significant price hike. The model was first introduced with only one version, costing Rs 1.73 lakh. The Karizma XMR, however, is now priced at ₹1.92 lakh (ex-showroom) as the base price, representing an increase of RS 19,000.

Despite the validity of this price increase given the introduction of all the new equipment, it may be a setback for customers seeking a more affordable entry point into the market.

Features are now standardized.

The Karizma XMR's hardware was recently updated by Hero in response to early complaints, notably concerning the absence of a USD fork, which is common on competitors like the Yamaha R15. The motorbike now has a USD front fork and a TFT display, both of which were not included in the original model.

On the other two models, some of which addressed some of the most pressing concerns brought up by shoppers and enthusiasts, these improvements are now commonplace. In addition to improving the bike's technological reputation, the changes also improve its handling and front-end stability.

Combat Edition of Hero Charisma

The Combat edition stands out from the other two versions currently available due to its grey and yellow paint scheme. The Combat model costs Rs 2.02 lakh (ex-showroom) and has the same features as the Top model, making the majority of the differences aesthetic. In keeping with Hero's overall design language across models, the color scheme is similar to that of the Xoom 110 Combat edition.

Karizma of a Hero: Specifications

The mechanical part is still the same, even with the modified equipment and variation. The Karizma XMR's 210cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which generates 25 horsepower and 20.4 Nm of torque, remains unchanged. It still targets riders in the under-250cc category looking for a sportier, faired motorcycle with a 6-speed transmission.
