Bajaj Chetak 3001 vs iQube, Rizta: How the Latest E-Scooter Measures Up
5 months ago | 5 Views
As a more affordable version of the popular electric scooter, the Bajaj Chetak 3001 was just released. The model is now the entry point in the Chetak lineup, with an ex-showroom price of ₹99,990, and it will be appealing to urban riders who are mindful of their budget.
In a market that is already crowded, Bajaj is taking on established companies like TVS, Ather, Vida, Honda, and the upcoming Japanese player from Suzuki. Compared to the competition, the Chetak 3001's battery capacity, range, charge time, features, and price are all examined here.
Compared to its competitors, the Bajaj Chetak 3001 has a better battery pack and range
The Bajaj Chetak 3001 has a 3 kWh battery pack, which falls between the entry-level 2.2 kWh model of the TVS iQube and the higher 3.5 kWh models. With a stated IDC range of 127 km, it is little behind the Ather Rizta S, which has a stated range of 123 km for its 2.9 kWh battery pack, and somewhat ahead of the Vida V2 Plus, which has stated ranges of 143 km, and the TVS iQube 3.5, which has stated ranges of 145 km.
The Chetak outperforms the soon-to-be-released Suzuki e-Access, which also has a 3 kWh battery but a shorter range of 95 km due to less energy-dense LFP cells. Although the cost is lower, the Honda QC1 lags far behind, boasting a modest 1.5kWh battery and a reported range of 80 km.
Charging time for the Bajaj Chetak 3001 compared to its competitors
The Chetak 3001 can charge from 0 to 80% in 3 hours and 50 minutes thanks to its included 750W charger. Its charging time is faster than many entry-level models, although it does not support fast charging. For example, the Ather Rizta S, which is placed higher, takes six hours and thirty minutes to reach 80% with its regular charger. The Ather and Vida models, however, gain from being compatible with the Ather Grid fast-charging network, which enables faster top-ups for pressing commutes.
With the quickest standard charge time of 2 hours and 45 minutes, the TVS iQube 2.2 kWh comes in first place, while the Suzuki e-Access and its 3.5kWh sibling both take approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes. Suzuki's soon-to-be-released fast charger setup is noteworthy for its claimed 1 hour and 12 minute charge time, which gives it the possibility of future leverage.
Competition for the Bajaj Chetak 3001: Price
With a price of ₹99,990, the Bajaj Chetak 3001 is a decent value at that price point, surpassing some rivals and offering greater value than others. This price is probably only for a short period, even though the Vida V2 Plus currently costs ₹85,300, which is significantly less than its rivals. With a price of 90,000, the Honda QC1 is reasonably priced but lacks in battery capacity and range.
At the higher end, the TVS iQube 3.5 costs ₹1.31 lakh, while the Ather Rizta S costs ₹1.10 lakh, not including an extra ₹14,000 for the Ather Pro Pack, which unlocks essential features. With a price tag of ₹1 lakh, the TVS iQube 2.2 competes directly with the Chetak.
