With the FX Package, which captures the design spirit of the 1980s, the 2026 Mustang will be modeled after the past. This new package gives the traditional pony car a retro makeover that's perfect for today's fans who want old-school style with modern features. The FX Pack, which draws visual cues from the third generation of Mustangs known as the "Fox Body," is not just a cosmetic update; it's a homage to the Mustang's lively and colorful history.

The 2026 Ford Mustang FX Package: Design

Starting with a novel exterior hue, Adriatic Blue Metallic, the FX Package brings back the strong 1980s vibe. With its striking white highlights, this teal-tinted hue creates the foundation for a high-contrast appearance. The Oxford White color makes a strong comeback, drawing attention to important aspects like the wheels, badges, and even the grille pony logo.

There are two unique wheels to choose from, both of which are 19-inch versions with an Oxford White finish. The other, which is included in the Performance Pack, has a classic, almost nostalgic design that would fit right in on an old Fox Body Mustang. One is an updated version of the five-spoke model. Additional retro touches include the white surrounds around the "5.0" and "GT" badges, as well as the contrasting white finish on the grille "nostrils" of Performance Pack vehicles. The taillights are also white, which contrasts sharply with the dark Adriatic Blue body.

The vintage theme continues indoors with furnishings that are intended to evoke the 1980s without seeming dated. With a nod to the plaid patterns of vintage Mustangs, the seats are made with high-contrast black and white perforated leather inserts, giving the car a retro aesthetic with a modern twist. These inserts may be used with either the standard chairs or the more athletic Recaro models.

City Silver and Adriatic Blue stitching are also used to enhance the cabin's interior, which can be seen on the dashboard, door panels, chairs, and steering wheel. An FX-specific "Mustang GT" emblem on the dashboard, created with a unique typeface influenced by traditional 1980s branding, further enhances the uniqueness.

With the addition of International Orange, Prime Blue, and Black with red stripe to the color scheme, the new seatbelt colors offer a touch of personalization throughout the Mustang model lineup. Additionally, Ford reintroduces the striking vintage color Orange Fury Metallic Tricoat, which was previously used in 2019.

2026 Ford Mustang FX Package: Specifications

The 2026 Mustang GT Premium trim is the only model that offers the FX Package. Regardless of the setup, the FX Pack guarantees a unique look both inside and outside. The FX Package comes with the option of a manual or automatic transmission, as well as a coupe or convertible body style, and includes or excludes the Performance Pack.

The white taillights that come with this package will also be available for purchase separately via the Ford Performance Parts catalog, allowing existing seventh-generation Mustang owners to access the retro appeal.
