Wimbledon 2025: The men’s singles quarter-finals on July 9; schedule, head-to-head, live streaming
4 months ago | 5 Views
The first set of Wimbledon 2025 semi-finalists have already been decided. Taylor Fritz was the first to book a spot in the July 11 semis, beating Karen Khachanov in four sets (6-3 6-4 1-6 6-4), followed by defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, who dispatched Cameron Norrie in straight sets. Fritz’ career best has been quarter-final appearances in the Slams, including twice at Wimbledon, making it his first semi-final on the grass court. Alcaraz, on the other hand, already has 5 Grand Slams in his trophy cabinet, since his 2021 main draw debut. He’s won Wimbledon in 2023 and 2024 and is looking at making it three on a trot.

Determining the second set of semi-finalists will be Novak Djokovic, Flavio Cobolli, Jannik Sinner and Ben Shelton. World No.1 Sinner got lucky during his Round of 16 bout, when his opponent, Grigor Dimitrov had to retire hurt after being firmly in control with two sets in his pocket. Sinner is, however, nursing an elbow injury and there are doubts if he will be able to play against Shelton after all.
Men’s singles quarter-finals schedule on July 9
| PLAYER 1 | PLAYER 2 | EXPECTED START TIME OF MATCH |
| J Sinner | B Shelton | 6.40 pm (Court 1) |
| N Djokovic | F Cobolli | 7.10 pm (Centre Court) |
Head-to-head records of quarter-finalists
The quarter-final on July 9 will only be Djokovic’s second encounter with Cobolli, having won their earlier match at the Shanghai Masters in 2024. Djokovic’s going in with this 1:0 advantage and his years of experience behind him, besides, of course, his hunger for a career 25th Grand Slam in his trophy collection.
The Sinner-Shelton story, though, is very different and quite one-sided. In their 6 encounters so far, Sinner has won 5, including in the semi-final of this year’s Australian Open, which he went on to win before his 3-month doping ban. Sinner’s never made it past the semi-final mark at Wimbledon, while Shelton’s a first-timer at this stage of the tournament.
