The situation with cricket in the Caribbean is only getting worse. Following the West Indies' capitulation in the pink-ball Test against Australia in Jamaica, led by Roston Chase, the state of Test cricket is now at its lowest point. The third and last game of the three-match series was lost by 176 runs. It took Australia just 14.3 overs in the fourth innings to dismiss the hosts and win the series 3-0. The West Indies had the second-lowest Test total as a result of this endeavor.

Following this loss, former West Indies captain Carl Hooper has already declared that "heads must roll." The reason for this defeat will be discussed at an emergency meeting, according to a formal statement released by Cricket West Indies on Tuesday evening. The West Indies were unable to compete with Australia throughout the three-game series, and the tourists secured a simple 3-0 victory.

The Windies were knocked out for only 27 in the fourth and final innings by Australia, thanks to Scott Boland's hat-trick and Mitchell Starc's comeback with six wickets.

Dr. Kishore Shallow, the president of Cricket West Indies, added that Brian Lara, Viv Richards, and Sir Clive Lloyd will be invited to the meeting and their views will also be solicited.

In an official release, he said, "I have advised the Chair of the Cricket Strategy and Officiating Committee to convene an emergency meeting to review the recent test series against Australia, particularly the final match, as an immediate step."

"To enhance the discussions, I have invited three of our best batsmen of all time: Sir Clive Lloyd, Sir Vivian Richards, and Brian Lara. They will join former committee members, including the great Dr. Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Dr. The Most Honorable Desmond Haynes, and Ian Bradshaw.

'There will be sleepless nights'

The Cricket West Indies President also admitted that the whole team and support personnel will have some restless nights in the future. Nonetheless, he urged supporters to keep supporting the squad since this is when they need it the most.

"I, like all West Indian cricket fans, experienced the agony of our recent Test loss to Australia. The outcome is painful, not just because of the manner in which we were defeated, but also because of what West Indies cricket has always symbolized for our people: pride, identity, and opportunity."

"For many of us, including the players, who I know feel this loss just as heavily, there will be some sleepless nights ahead. However, even if frustration is to be expected, we shouldn't let this experience determine the course of our trip. In addition to investing in the next generation, we are reigniting the spirit that has long made West Indies cricket a dominant force in the world as we rebuild.

As Roston Chase took over the reins from Kraigg Brathwaite, he was named the new West Indies captain just prior to the start of the series against Australia. But the Caribbean team's results remained unchanged as Australia continued to rule the series from beginning to end.
