WWE has released Ron Killings, also known as R-Truth, after a 17-year tenure. With a heartfelt letter to his followers, who have been devastated by the news, the 53-year-old announced his retirement on social media on Sunday.

Killings posted on X, "I regret to inform you all. I was just let go from WWE. I would like to express my gratitude to WWE for the journey, but primarily I would like to express my gratitude to each and every one of you who has been with me along the way. Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have shown me throughout the years. Thank you.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful stated that Killings' deal with WWE will not be made public. "The R Truth tweet is accurate, not a hack or accident. When his WWE contract expires, he will leave the organization, the reporter stated in a message on X.

Killings' fellow wrestlers and supporters took to social media to voice their displeasure soon after he announced his departure from WWE. So far, his tweet has received over 7 million views and thousands of responses.

"In all seriousness, this is literally so heartbreaking… Thank you Truth," said WWE celebrity Rhea Ripley. “You’re an amazing talent and an even better person,” said Ricochet, a well-known AEW personality. Live your life to the fullest, unc!

"I despise this so much," Naomi of SmackDown said, whereas "THANK YOU! For all the joy you brought to wrestling!" was what former NXT player Shotzi Blackheart wrote. Killings' supporters, on the other hand, are stunned and wondering whether the news is a "joke."

One X user said, "Tell me this is a joke." "June Fools Day?" asked someone else, while another added, "TRUTH U JUST HAD A MATCH WITH CENA DUDE PLEASE BE TROLLING ONG PLEASEW".
