As the Royal Challengers Bangalore faced the Punjab Kings in the IPL final on Tuesday, hundreds of Virat Kohli supporters, all donning his No 18 jersey, gathered outside Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. Stadium videos showed supporters rooting for the former RCB captain, who is attempting to win his first IPL title in 18 years.

As the video of Kohli fans went viral, social media users called Kohli "the last of the stars," a phrase Shah Rukh Khan famously used on Anupam Kher's talk program "Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai."

"The Biggest Superstar of Indian Cricket," as someone put it on the platform formerly known as Twitter, X. They also shared a picture taken outside the stadium.

"Virat Kohli - The Last Superstar of Indian Cricket!" another person chimed in.

A third person tweeted that "every ground in the world becomes Virat Kohli's home ground when he plays."

For the past eighteen years, Kohli, the IPL's top scorer, has been a member of RCB's core team. The crew was able to advance to the finals in 2009, 2011, and 2016. However, they still haven't won their first trophy. With his fourth attempt at the prestigious IPL trophy, Virat Kohli will be on Tuesday.

Against PBKS, Kohli has an average of 36 runs (1116 from 35 games), but he has recently been able to average 62.5 runs (375 runs from eight games).

Although Shreyas Iyer has previously guided two teams—the Delhi Capitals and the Kolkata Knight Riders—to the IPL finals, his present squad, the Punjab Kings, is still seeking the ultimate prize. The PBKS captain won the toss on Tuesday and decided to bowl.
