Teen phenomenon Vaibhav Suryavanshi is still going strong. The sky seems to be the limit for the left-handed hitter as he keeps rewriting the record books. The left-handed batter is maintaining his form in the first Youth Test against England after igniting the ODI series against England U19 with his big-hitting exploits. The 14-year-old recovered from a slow start in the first innings, where he only scored 14 runs off 13 balls, by hitting a half-century in the second innings, securing India's position in the four-day game.

In the second innings, Suryavanshi hit nine fours and one six to score 56 runs off 44 balls. Previously, he had achieved his half-century in only 39 deliveries. Despite a failure in the first innings, the left-handed batter made no attempt to restrain his innate instincts, and the youngster didn't alter his strategy.

Archie Vaughan, the son of Michael Vaughan, the previous captain of England, ultimately fired Suryavanshi.

Earlier in the competition, Suryavanshi made history by becoming the youngest player to ever take a wicket in a Youth Test match. He was 14 years old and 107 days when he accomplished the accomplishment. When he fired England captain Hamza Shaikh, he added another record to his resume.

The England captain eventually returned after hitting 84 runs from 134 balls. The young man was overjoyed to take his first wicket, and he celebrated with flair. Thomas Rew was also dismissed by him for 34, so this was not his only wicket.

In 12 overs, Suryavanshi ended with stats of 2/35. India benefited from a 101-run lead thanks to his efforts. Due to a century by captain Ayush Mhatre, India scored 540 runs in the first innings. Following that, England was bowled out for 439.

Suryavanshi's onslaught in the One Day International series

Suryavanshi first established his reputation by scoring the quickest century by an Indian in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Then, in the five-match Youth ODI series, he showed England his talent by smashing the England U19 bowlers all over the field.

He also hit a century in the fourth ODI at Worcester. His best performance in the series was 143 runs in the fourth ODI, and he accumulated a total of 355 runs across the entire series. India's 3-2 series victory was largely due to his performance.

After hitting a century for the Rajasthan Royals against Shubman Gill's Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2025 season, Suryavanshi had previously gained widespread recognition. He ultimately helped Royals win at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur by scoring 101 runs off 38 deliveries.
