During India's opening youth ODI match against England in Hove, Vaibhav Suryavanshi displayed his explosive best during his brief but significant time at the crease. Suryavanshi walked out to bat with purpose as he began the innings alongside Ayush Mhatre, aiming for a respectable total of 175, and he hammered a fantastic 48 off of only 19 balls. In the eighth over, Ralphie Albert forced his resignation after his innings, which included three fours and five enormous sixes.

At the age of 14, Suryavanshi became well-known last year after scoring a century in a youth Test match against Australia. His explosive batting style helped him secure an IPL deal with the Rajasthan Royals. Suryavanshi made a splash in the T20 league by hitting an amazing 101 off of only 38 balls in a game against the Gujarat Titans.

He had also played for India in the U19 Asia Cup the year before.

The Indian youngsters delivered a fantastic bowling performance in the first ODI between the U19 teams of England and India, which resulted in the hosts being bowled out for only 174 in 42.2 overs. Kanishk Chouhan was the best of the bowlers, taking three wickets for only twenty runs in a parsimonious ten-over spell. Mohamed Enaan, RS Ambrish, and Henil Patel each took two wickets.

Knock by Suryavanshi

Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre, the U19 captain who played for Chennai Super Kings in this year's IPL, started the innings. But it was the latter who assumed the role of attacker, hitting the English bowlers all over the field. Wearing the jersey number 18, which Virat Kohli has worn for years in senior white-ball cricket, he scored a boundary in every over he faced against AM French, with the exception of the eighth, when he was out. He also blasted a boundary off his second ball.

Additionally, Suryavanshi immediately put England under pressure by hitting two consecutive sixes against Jack Home. However, the side gained three quick wickets after his dismissal for 48 gave English bowlers an opportunity to target the hitters. At the time this piece was written, India was at 142/4 in 20.4 overs and needed only 33 more runs to win, but Suryavanshi's early destruction had mostly ensured India would sail through the target.
