Then Srinath, Now Siraj – The Pain Persists

Despite the valiant battle that Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj put up in the Lord's Test against England, the game ultimately ended in heartbreak as Ben Stokes' team won by 22 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. Despite the visitors being 112/8 at the lunch break on the last day, Jadeja gave it his all and spearheaded India's comeback in the 193-run chase. Mohammed Siraj's wicket was lost to Shoaib Bashir, which set the stage for a historic England triumph, but the left-handed batsman could only score 61 runs before being defeated.
Former India Test captain Anil Kumble compared the Lord's Test, which ended with India losing by 12 runs, to the 1999 Chennai Test between India and Pakistan.
Sachin Tendulkar led India's struggle in the Chennai Test, while Ravindra Jadeja did so at Lord's. However, both of their attempts were in vain because their squads were unable to cross the finish line. Javagal Srinath was the last player to lose his wicket in the 1999 match, being bowled by Saqlain Mushtaq.
I was just reminded of a Test match in Chennai where we were defeated by Pakistan by 12 runs. It was a similar discussion. Mohammed Siraj is here and there, while Javagal Srinath is there. Kumble said, during a discussion on JioHotstar, that he had just enough on the ball to knock that bail off.
Mohammed Siraj was bowled by Shoaib Bashir to give England a 2-1 advantage in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, and the scenes in India were genuinely heartbreaking.
The last wicket was taken by Bashir. On the back foot, Siraj did a great job of defending the ball. But when the ball struck the ground, Bashir's overspin caused it to rotate behind him, and it rolled into the leg stump. The bail was knocked off its position by it.

Siraj was devastated to see the ball return to the stumps. The India pacer was also approached by England's Joe Root and Mohammed Siraj in an attempt to cheer him up.
India's score and proximity to victory are due to Jadeja's excellent batting. But England deserve credit for simply sticking to their jobs. He wasn't trying to take the bowler on, though. However, the ridiculous thing coming in caused him to play back. It bounced off of him. However, Kumble said that India would have undoubtedly believed it was a fantastic opportunity to move ahead and achieve a truly historic victory.
"However, they lose by 22 runs, which is unfortunate for India," he said.
Ravindra Jadeja's solitary battle
Ravindra Jadeja did his very best to assist India in making a comeback. England had the ideal start to the last day of the Lord's Test as they captured the wickets of Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Washington Sundar, and Chris Woakes during the first session.
Jadeja and Bumrah then built a 37-run partnership for the ninth wicket by remaining at the crease for over 130 balls. But then, unexpectedly, Bumrah made a pull shot and handed his wicket to Ben Stokes.
Ultimately, Shoaib Bashir took the last wicket, giving England a series lead. The fourth Test between India and England will now take place in Manchester, starting on July 23.
