‘The Word Doesn’t Exist’: Arshdeep on Being Compared to Jasprit Bumrah
5 months ago | 5 Views
Arshdeep Singh, a left-arm pacer, loved coming back to Kent for the training session prior to the first Test match against England, which was held in Headingley, Leeds. Following the retirements of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and R Ashwin, the Indian squad has entered a transitional period. The Indian squad has begun the hard work for the five-match Test series, which will also mark the beginning of the new cycle for the World Test Championship, under Shubman Gill's leadership.
Shubman Gill and the Indian squad will play India A in a four-day tour match as part of their preparations for the forthcoming series. From June 13 at the Kent County Cricket Ground in Beckenham, this vital warm-up is planned.
As he works to get back into his red-ball groove, Arshdeep is ecstatic to be back in Kent, where he had previously played county cricket.
Arshdeep expressed his self-assurance by saying that he feels "the best" whenever he has the ball in his hands. However, he was quick to acknowledge that when Jasprit Bumrah is in the bowling attack, all comparisons become meaningless.
"I always feel that I am the best whenever I have the ball in my hands. However, as everyone is aware, the word "comparison" does not even exist when a player named Jasprit Bumrah is involved in an attack, Arshdeep told BCCI.tv. Therefore, the emphasis is on how we can enhance one another's game, one another's skill sets, and how we may assist the team. My attention is on that.

Arshdeep Singh: 'Skipper looked in good touch'
Ahead of the series, there is a competitive attitude in the camp, which is helping Arshdeep improve his bowling.
"It was fun bowling to the batters," he remarked. "They looked quite compact, and there was a competitive spirit—even though we were just working on rhythm, they were fully competing." As a result, it was all the more enjoyable, he claimed.
In the nets, the left-arm pacer discussed competing against players like Sai Sudharsan and Shubman. The new skipper appeared to be in good form in the nets, he said, which bodes well for the visitors on the lengthy trip.
"We had to grind well and attempt to remove them using a well thought out strategy. Sai is making his debut on the team, and he seemed to be quite small as well. The captain seemed to be in excellent form. In the future, I'll do my best to continue to improve and get them out more frequently.
