It may be that Stefon Diggs' future with the New England Patriots is in jeopardy. After a video surfaced showing the problematic wide receiver ‘flirting’ with women and handing out a pink chemical on a boat, an NFL insider revealed that Mike Vrabel and his crew are ready to release him. The issue has not yet been addressed by the 31-year-old. The Patriots stated that they are aware of the video but have not taken any action.

In the interim, an NFL insider said that there is a high likelihood that New England will break ties with Diggs, who was acquired in free agency on a three-year, $63.5 million deal that included a $25 million guarantee. Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer stated on 98.5 The Sports Hub on Friday that "I kind of think all things are on the table and I think really, to me at least, it's going to boil down to what Stef told [head coach Mike] Vrabel, and how believable it was."

Breer also stated that it will be "going to be hard" for NFL authorities to examine the situation. "They're going to reach a dead end since they won't be able to demonstrate what was inside the bag. They can't demonstrate the contents of the bag.

"The team must now decide. The team must release him immediately in order to recover any of the assured cash. Because you cannot keep him on the roster for two weeks before deciding, "Okay, we're done with you then." I would guess that the reason he was not at practice the other day could be because Mike told him to stay away, and maybe they are working through everything now. However, this is just my assumption.

After the WR missed a voluntary practice, Vrabel, a former Patriots linebacker, spoke about the issue on Wednesday. Stefon Diggs was on the boat with Cardi B, his rapper girlfriend.

"We are aware of it, and we clearly want to make sound judgments both on and off the field. Stefon and I will keep any discussions we've had between ourselves and the club, he added.
