South African Bowler Clashes with Bangladesh Batter, Grabs Helmet Twice in Heated Emerging Test Incident

During the four-day red-ball match between the Bangladesh Emerging Team and the South Africa Emerging Team, there was an "unacceptable" and "extreme" incident in Dhaka on Wednesday when South Africa bowler Tshepo Ntuli and Bangladesh batsman Ripon Mondol got into a fight. The punishments will be made public after the on-field umpires provide their official assessment of the situation.
Following Ripon's six against Ntuli, the incident took place. He exchanged glances with the bowler as he made his way to the other end of the pitch, in the direction of his batting partner Mehidy Hasan, at which point the Ntuli attacked him.
Before Ntuli grabbed and pulled the batter's helmet twice, the two of them pushed each other. After the incident, umpire Kamruzzaman rushed to intervene but received no help from other players. Actually, several South African players also followed Ntuli in attacking Ripon, who then took off his helmet.
Commentators and social media users criticized the event. "This is outrageous, this is intolerable. In general, a cricket field is the site of verbal disagreements, but physical fights are less common. As quoted by ESPNCricinfo, on-air commentator Nabil Kaiser said that at one point, "Ntuli hit Ripon's helmet."
The conflict continued from there. After three pitches, Ripon blocked the delivery back towards the bowler, and Ntuli then threw the ball at the batter. The batter was able to dodge it.
Before any action is taken, the match referee will submit the official report on the incident to the BCB and CSA, as per ESPNCricinfo.
During the campaign, there have been other occurrences of this kind. In the second game of the 50-over match in Rajshahi earlier, Andile Simelane and Jishan Alam were given suspensions for their actions.
The competition concludes with the current red-ball match. The first four-day match in Chattogram ended in a tie, but Bangladesh had won the one-day leg 2-1.
