Shubman Gill Speaks Out on Crawley Clash

Following the game on Monday, which saw India lose to England by 22 runs, Shubman Gill, the captain of India, minimized the frequent jibing and sledging during the Lord's Test. There was a lot of verbal communication between players during the third Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, where the two teams' tempers raged. After Zak Crawley intentionally wasted time to prevent India from getting a second over in before stumps, Gill targeted the England opener on the third day of the entire escalation.

On the stump mic, Gill could be heard saying "Grow some f*****g b***s" as Crawley persisted to retreat.

On Day 4, the needle went on as Mohammed Siraj bid Ben Duckett a scorching farewell, which cost the India pacer 15% of his match salary. On the last and concluding day of the Lord's Test, even England went after all the Indian players without holding back.

As Jofra Archer spat out a mouthful, he gave Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar send-offs. Harry Brook and Ben Stokes kept poking Nitish Kumar Reddy.

At the home of cricket, though, Gill portrayed the heated nature of the competition, claiming that it is an integral component of sports.

"You are giving it all, after all. You are giving it your all mentally and physically, and sometimes there would be a bit of heat from both sides. I believe this contributes to its increased thrill and difficulty. The next time we play each other, we know there won't be anything easy, Gill said to reporters.

"Ultimately, the two teams have a great deal of respect for one another. Both teams are doing their best to play well and win the game. There may be instances when there is a little heat. It's all about giving your best; it may occur in a cricket match, but that's what makes it so thrilling, he said.

'Moments like these...'

When asked in the post-match press conference if England had taken the sledging from the Indian camp to heart and whether, as a result, the hosts had also come down hard on the visitors on the final day, Shubman Gill responded.

Gill, on the other hand, responded honestly, stating that when two clubs are giving their all, one should expect such heated rivalry.

“That’s what adds to the excitement. Both squads are giving it their all in an effort to win the game. The series becomes more engaging because of occurrences like these,” said Gill.

Regarding the Lord's Test, India was defeated by 22 runs despite Ravindra Jadeja's unbroken 61-run inning. At one point, India was in trouble at 112/8, but Jadeja made every effort to bring India over the line with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.

But Shoaib Bashir's bowling took one of the most memorable Test matches to a sad conclusion with a heart-wrenching Mohammed Siraj dismissal.
