In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Qualifier 2, Shreyas Iyer scored an undefeated 87 runs off 41 balls against the Mumbai Indians, which may have helped the Punjab Kings advance to the championship match, but the captain was not happy after the game ended at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After Shashank Singh was run out in the crucial match, the PBKS captain could be seen shouting at him.

The whole Punjab Kings team rushed to the middle to embrace the captain and celebrate the accomplishment of making it to the IPL final for the second time in the franchise's history, after Shreyas Iyer struck the game-winning six off Ashwani Kumar's delivery.

But Shreyas Iyer let loose with obscenities and verbally blasted Shashank Singh when the latter came up to him, making it plain that he was furious that Shashank couldn't get to the non-striker's end in time and that a bullet Hardik Pandya throw caught him off guard in the crease.

Showing his displeasure with Shashank's failure to make the crease in time, Shreyas Iyer even lifted his hands and pointed his fingers at him.

Shreyas Iyer was ignored by Shashank Singh as he continued on his way. But his body language made it plain that he was also unhappy about being dismissed in the game's 17th over.

When did the run-out happen?

After being run out for only two runs on the fourth delivery of the 17th over, Shashank Singh returned to the dugout. Shashank Singh struck the low full-toss off Trent Boult's bowling far outside Hardik Pandya at mid-on.

After that, the Mumbai Indians captain grabbed the ball and knocked the stumps down in a flash. To the naked eye, it appeared that Shashank Singh had easily established his crease at the non-striker's end.

But the replays revealed that Shashank was jogging and taking things easy, and he ultimately fell short of the popping crease. A missed dive caused the Punjab Kings to lose this crucial moment in the game.

Shashank Singh's performance in this game was subpar, and it's understandable that Shreyas Iyer wasn't at all happy with how things turned out in the middle.

Iyer struck an 87* match-winning innings in the game between PBKS and MI to help the team chase down 204 with six balls remaining and five wickets in hand.

With this victory, PBKS advanced to the IPL 2025 final, where they will face Rajat Patidar's Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Tuesday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
