Shardul Thakur Works His Magic Again, Removes Duckett and Brook to Revive India’s Hopes

On the last day of the first Test against England at Headingley, Leeds, India was defeated and out, but the departure of Zak Crawley during the second session opened the door for the team to make a comeback. Prasidh Krishna quickly sent Crawley (65) and Ollie Pope (0) packing, but India was in trouble as Ben Duckett continued to score runs.
Shardul Thakur took two wickets in back-to-back balls in the 55th over, removing left-handed Duckett (149) and Harry Brook (0), at that point deciding to take action for the visitors. India was quite positive as soon as the latter was let go, understanding that they had been given the opportunity to intrude and make a memorable comeback.
It should be noted that Harry Brook is the first batsman in the history of the sport to be out for 99 in the first innings and then receive a golden duck in the second.
Shardul Thakur, nicknamed 'Lord', only bowled six overs in the first innings, and Shubman Gill and Gautam Gambhir were reprimanded for not having faith in him and using him with the ball too sparingly.
In the second innings, Shardul didn't bowl much again, but he took advantage of his opportunities in the second session of Day 5 by removing Duckett and Brook and bouncing England back.
Shardul first induced Duckett to be caught by a short extra cover fielder, and then the pacer had Harry Brook strangled down the leg side. Brook charged down the pitch, and the Indian pacer shot the ball legside in response, forcing Brook to edge it and give Rishabh Pant an easy catch.
Duckett and Crawley added 188 runs for the first wicket
Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett scored 188 runs for the opening wicket of the fourth and final innings of England earlier. The pair appeared poised to give England a memorable victory.
Prasidh Krishna, however, took action by quickly getting rid of Crawley and Pope.
Crawley and Duckett fended off the Indian assault in the opening session, racking up runs easily. The seamers received no help from the pitch, and even Jasprit Bumrah was unable to silence them.
But in the second session, the pitch really showed its worth, and even Ravindra Jadeja began to receive some help. Nevertheless, in the Headingley Test, England continue to hold the advantage. In order for India to recover this one, they would need to perform exceptionally well.
