In the seventh game of the NBA Finals, played Sunday night in India, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander concluded his MVP season with 29 points and 12 assists as the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Indiana Pacers 103-91.

With the victory, Gilgeous-Alexander won the NBA Finals MVP award, which was the culmination of a season that had already been brilliant with several accolades and championships. He earned the NBA scoring champion award, season MVP, Western Conference Final MVP, and the NBA championship. For the OKC Thunder and SGA, it was undoubtedly a legendary season.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander won the championship, and that is the prize money.

The distinction of being the NBA Finals MVP is sufficient, and earning both this award and the season MVP only elevates the player to the highest level of celebrity. In its official rules, the NBA does not provide a specific monetary award for Finals MVP. This championship deserves recognition, but the league does not provide a financial reward for it.
