In the current Test series against England, where the visiting side made a stunning comeback last week in Birmingham to tie the series 1-1 with a record 336-run victory, former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has been utterly amazed by Shubman Gill's batting and leadership. Leeds saw them lose the first game of the series by five wickets.

Being India's most consistent batter in the series thus far, Gill has led from the front. The 25-year-old has already amassed 585 runs on the trip, including a double ton, with three centuries in four innings, and is currently just 18 runs shy of beating Rahul Dravid for the most runs scored in a single tour of England. Of that total, an incredible 430 runs were scored at Edgbaston, including the 269 runs scored during the first innings.

In contrast to his low-key leadership performance in Leeds, Gill seemed more at ease in the second Test against England, which Sachin attributed in large part to his outstanding performance with the bat in an interview with Star Sports.

"He's been good." He has a very cool and collected demeanor. The way the other ten players respond to his actions and choices, which have been well-considered and measured, is something I have great faith in. Additionally, his hitting is a complement to this since a captain's form has a significant impact on decision-making. You must be in the proper mood to make those crucial calls. He's been hitting really well. You usually try to identify the weak spots in a batsman's hitting and method as an opponent, but he has been outstanding in his batting and has been exceptional," he stated.

A portrait of Sachin Tendulkar was unveiled at the MCC Museum

Before the third Test between India and England, the portrait of the renowned Indian batter was unveiled in the MCC Museum on Thursday at Lord's.

The picture, which Stuart Pearson Wright created from a photo he took at his house 18 years prior, will stay at the MCC Museum until later this year before being moved to the Pavilion.

The third Test also saw Sachin ring the five-minute bell for the first time in his career.

The only change to India's starting XI for the game was the inclusion of Jasprit Bumrah in place of Prasidh Krishna.
