Sachin Tendulkar Elated as South Africa Clinch WTC, Yuvraj Singh Teases Australia Over Trophy Loss

Following South Africa's victory over Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) final, the cricketing community was in a frenzy. In the fourth and last innings, Temba Bavuma and his valiant teammates chased down 282 to defeat Australia by five wickets in the third edition of the WTC final. Aiden Markram and Temba Bavuma performed exceptionally well to assist South Africa win an ICC title and end their trophy drought after 27 years.
The Proteas were congratulated by former India batter Sachin Tendulkar, who holds the record for the most runs scored in Tests and ODIs, for winning the match against a high-profile Australian team.
South Africa successfully chased down 282 at Lord's Cricket Ground thanks to Markram's 136 and Bavuma's 66. The pair added 147 runs for the third wicket. Despite Australia's best efforts on Day 4, the Proteas secured victory in the opening session.
"Test cricket keeps working its charm." @ProteasMenCSA discovered peace in the storm during a finale where each session had its own narrative. "Markram's composure and Bavuma's grit under pressure stood tall in the fourth innings," Tendulkar posted on X (formerly Twitter).
"A partnership that turned hope into history, and a century that will be remembered." He said, "Congratulations to South Africa on becoming World Test Champions! #WTC25," adding.

Yuvraj Singh, a former all-rounder for India, also extended his congratulations to South Africa for winning the WTC. He also praised Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, and Marco Jansen for their effective bowling throughout the match, which limited Australia.
Rabada finished the match with nine wickets, including five in the first innings and four in the second. Yuvraj acknowledged Australia's ability to win ICC events, but told Pat Cummins that it's "okay to let go of one trophy."

The Bavuma-led team's victory in the Test mace, thanks to Markram's incredible display, also thrilled former India cricketer Irfan Pathan. Yusuf, Irfan's brother, and Harbhajan Singh, the Indian legend, also responded to South Africa's victory in an ICC trophy after 27 years.
Since 2010, when they were defeated by England in the T20 World Cup final in Barbados, this is Australia's first loss in the ICC finals.
Celebrations broke out in the dressing room as soon as wicketkeeper-batter Kyle Verreynne hit the runs that won the match. Keshav Maharaj dissolved in a post-match interview with Graeme Smith, while Bavuma was unable to rein in his feelings.
