In a shocking revelation that goes back to 2006, former India opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan revealed details about his personal life. The former India batsman, who was known as "Mr ICC," wrote in his autobiography, "The One: Cricket, My Life and More," about how he fell in love with a girl during India A's series against Australia in 2006. He spoke about the times he used to "smuggle" the girl into the hotel room he shared with Rohit Sharma.

Additionally, Rohit Sharma's reaction to the same was made public by Shikhar Dhawan, who claimed that the team discussed his connection with the lady during the entire tour of Australia.

"In 2006, I then went on a tour to Australia with the India A squad. As soon as I arrived in Darwin, I spotted a stunning woman in the immigration line. She was a tall brunette with sharp features and a blunt cut. She was stunningly beautiful. I gave her a grin, and she reciprocated. She approached the conveyor belt to pick up her luggage, pushing her baggage trolley along. According to Sportstar, I stood beside her and did the same.

After that, Dhawan stated that he only spoke with the girl for a short time before they shared phone numbers. Additionally, he stated that Robin Singh, the India A coach at the time, got along well with him and had no issues.

"We had exchanged phone numbers and email IDs by the conclusion of our conversation. I sent her an email as soon as I arrived at the hotel, and she answered. I extended an invitation to the celebration. I was overjoyed when she agreed. In the past, I had frequently attended gatherings with Robin Singh, who was the India A coach during that trip to Australia. Dhawan said that we were more like pals than a player-coach relationship.

As much to the chagrin of Rohit Sharma, Dhawan said that he soon began "smuggling" the woman to his hotel room after having played for India in over 200 international games.

During that tour, my intention to meet this Englishwoman began to materialize, and we started partying frequently. Her beauty was captivating, and I found myself falling in love all over again! 'She is the one for me, and I am going to marry her,' I said to myself. I used to go over to meet Ellen after every game, and I quickly began smuggling her into my hotel room, which I shared with Rohit Sharma. He would sometimes express his displeasure in Hindi. Dhawan also stated, "Will you let me sleep?"

The news of Dhawan's relationship in Australia quickly spread throughout the squad after the selector saw them in the lobby of a hotel, Dhawan told the team, who had retired from international cricket in August 2024.

Dhawan was also honest enough to confess that his performance suffered as a result of his probable distraction during the trip to Australia.

Dhawan played for India in 34 Tests, 68 T20Is, and 167 ODIs. He had his greatest success in the 50-over format, where he scored 6793 runs at an average of 44.11.

He is renowned for his accomplishments in the 2013 and 2017 Champions Trophy, and the ICC competitions brought out the best in him. Even though he had a strong start to the 2019 ODI World Cup, he was forced to withdraw from the competition after the game against Australia.
