Rishabh Pant’s Wicketkeeping Status for 4th Test Revealed in Latest Video

Rishabh Pant's wicketkeeping position is in doubt heading into the fourth Test after the India star suffered a finger injury at the Lord's. He only wore the gloves for 35 overs in the first innings after suffering the injury while receiving a delivery from Jasprit Bumrah. Despite the fact that he batted in both innings, Dhruv Jurel was in charge of keeping wicket.

On Monday, Pant was seen working on his wicketkeeping, which was a significant development for Indian cricket fans, after having just been named the Test vice-captain. A PTI video showed Pant participating in a catching drill.

Pant is a crucial element in the Indian team for this five-game Test series, in which they are behind 1-2. He scored two centuries in Leds, followed by 25 and 65 in Birmingham. When India lost the third Test by a score of 22 runs, he scored 74 and 9.

Dhruv Jurel will once again warm the bench in the next fourth match if Pant is fully fit.

As scans revealed considerable ligament damage, India will be without all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy for the fourth Test. "Yes, Nitish Kumar Reddy has experienced an injury setback," a source told the Hindustan Times. At this point, it seems really unlikely that he would be able to play in the final two Tests in Manchester and the Oval.

On Sunday, the all-rounder was not seen during the Indian team's conversation with the Manchester United players and staff. Anshul Kamboj, a Haryana pacer, has been called up as backup.

India continued to hold their lead in the third Test until the second innings, at which point they were tasked with scoring 193 runs. The visiting top-order suffered a significant collapse, with Yashasvi Jaiswal (0), Karun Nair (14), and captain Shubman Gill (6) all failing to reach the 20-run mark.

Although Ravindra Jadeja (61*) attempted to turn things around, he was unable to get help from the middle order and was instead forced to team up with the tailenders.
