Virat Kohli remains the key player in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team, even though he stepped down as captain after IPL 2021. His teammates still greatly respect him for what he has done for both the franchise and India. RCB players often praise Kohli for his dedication and loyalty, sticking with the team for 18 years. Now, with RCB reaching the IPL final after nine years, captain Rajat Patidar has clearly said they want to win their first title for Kohli, who has been with the team from the start. Kohli has faced many ups and downs, but Patidar is confident they can achieve it for him.

“We're going to try and win this one for him,” Patidar said before the final against PBKS. “He has played so well for India and RCB over the years.”

RCB has been in three IPL finals before but has yet to win the trophy. Patidar is determined to break that streak in this fourth final. He’s shown good leadership by making smart decisions during tense moments.

People expect a lot from Patidar to end RCB’s wait for the title. But he says he’s focused on the present and what he can control.

“People expect a lot, especially when you're leading RCB in a final,” he said. “But I focus on what I can do now and stay in the moment. Leading the team has been a great learning experience for me.”

No matter where we are, it feels like the crowd is our home turf

The presence of Kohli has had a huge impact on RCB, drawing big crowds even when they are playing away. Patidar mentioned that this support makes them feel like they are playing at home.

“Wherever we go, we feel like the crowd is cheering for us at home," he said, "and they've been showing us love for many years."

RCB and Punjab Kings have already faced each other three times this season. Punjab won the first match. But RCB took control in the next two, including a big win in Qualifier 1 that boosted their confidence. Still, the final will be a different challenge. Both teams are under pressure to win their first title, and that makes it more intense.
